1938 PROOF (PF65 NGC) WASHINGTON QUARTER 25C. Beautiful reflecting surfaces with the Eagle looking almost frosted like a modern proof set. If you are collecting a complete set of Washington quarters, only 8,045 were made of this year so no more than 8,045 sets could be completed. If you are collecting for a complete set then only 550 NGC graded quarters are better than this coin, in this grade so as you see. I found it and had it graded so this is brand new to the market.

Also, I didnt request a variety grade when grading so it is not stated on the definition however the reverse of the coin appears to be re-cut (from the mint) and there are no known example of that year existing. You may have a discovery coin if you have it re-certified with a variety designation. Investigate on your own and you will find this an awesome opportunity to own a rare issue. Its a more-than-beautiful rarity from the 2nd year of official proof sets.
